Newnan's live theatre—for & by the community
To Kill a Mockingbird
dramatized by Christopher Sergel, based on the book by Harper Lee
Aug 17–20, 24–27, 2017
Scout, a young girl in a quiet southern town, experiences dramatic events that will affect the rest of her life. Her widower father, Atticus, is raising her and her brother, Jem. Set in 1935, this play illustrates the social issues and language of this time period. The black people of the community have a special feeling about Scout's father, but in her youthful innocence, she does not know why. A few of her white friends are inexplicably hostile and Scout doesn't understand this either. Atticus, a lawyer, explains that he is defending a young Negro man wrongfully accused of a grave crime, "Because if I didn't, I couldn't hold my head up.” Atticus fights his legal battle with a result that is part defeat, part triumph – and this touching dramatization is a classic and meaningful work of art.

Evil Dead: The Musical
Music and lyrics by Christopher Bond, Frank Cipolla, Melissa Morris, and George Reinblatt
Book by George Reinblatt
Oct 19–22, 26–29, 2017
Based on Sam Raimi's 80s cult classic films, EVIL DEAD tells the tale of 5 college kids who travel to a cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force. And although it may sound like a horror, it's not! The songs are hilariously campy and the show is bursting with more farce than a Monty Python skit. EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL unearths the old familiar story: boy and friends take a weekend getaway at abandoned cabin, boy expects to get lucky, boy unleashes ancient evil spirit, friends turn into Candarian Demons, boy fights until dawn to survive. "Camp" takes on a whole new meaning with uproarious numbers like "All the Men in my Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons," "Look Who's Evil Now" and "Do the Necronomicon.” Get the ultimate 4–D experience in the SplatterZone!

The Kitchen Witches
by Caroline Smith
Sep 14–17, 21–24, 2017
Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle are two "mature" cable–access cooking show hostesses who have hated each other for 30 years, ever since Larry Biddle dated one and married the other. When circumstances put them together on a TV show called The Kitchen Witches, the insults are flung harder than the food! Dolly's long-suffering TV-producer (and son) Stephen tries to keep them on track, but as long as Dolly's dressing room is one inch closer to the set than Isobel's, it's a losing battle, and the show becomes a ratings smash as Dolly and Isobel top both Martha Stewart and Jerry Springer!

2017–18 Season tickets
2017–18 Season Tickets are on sale now!
More than just a ticket to every show...
At Newnan Theatre Company, our season tickets are a little different. When you purchase our season ticket, you actually purchase a set number of admissions. For example, our regular season ticket is good for 10 admissions - however you wish to use them. You could attend every show in our season once and use 10 admissions, or attend five shows and bring a friend to each one (5 x 2 = 10). This system offers you total flexibility in how you use your admissions, and you never feel like you have to see every show in our season lineup, just the ones that appeal to you!
Season ticket holders enjoy discounted admission, special reserved seating (with a chocolate on your seat!), and invitations to "members only" events and performances.
As an NTC season ticket holder, you also enjoy knowing you are supporting live theatre in your community. Season Tickets are a great gift for the theatre lover in your life!
